To accept bookings and get paid on tomove, you'll need to connect a Stripe account or Select a Membership account. Stripe is our secure payments partner — it's the same technology used by thousands of marketplaces to pay hosts and sellers directly and securely. This takes about 3–5 minutes to complete.
Even though you set it up through tomove, the Stripe account belongs to you, not to us. Stripe creates a real, independent account under your name (or your business's name), with its own login and security.
This means:
If you stop using tomove for any reason, your Stripe account goes with you. It doesn't get deleted, frozen, or handed back to us.
You can:
Nothing about your payment history, balance, or verified identity is lost when you disconnect.
Have these ready before you start, so you can complete the form in one go:
Occasionally, Stripe also asks for a quick selfie alongside your ID as an extra security check when creating a new account. This is a normal part of Stripe's verification process, only takes a second, and doesn't mean anything has gone wrong.
Stripe opens a "Get started with Stripe" screen that asks for an email address. That one step handles both situations.
Enter that same email. Stripe will ask for your password (and your two-factor code if you use one), then ask you to confirm the connection to tomove. Because it's an existing, already-verified account, you don't need to go through identity verification again. You keep everything already in the account: balance, history, verification status, and settings. Any existing connections you have to other platforms stay exactly as they are — connecting to tomove doesn't affect them.
Enter the email address you'd like to use and Stripe will create your account as part of this flow — there's nothing to set up beforehand. Stripe asks for a few details to verify you (identity document, and occasionally a selfie) and a bank account for payouts. Business details are only needed if you trade as a business; if you're renting as yourself, choose individual / sole trader. When you finish, Stripe sends you straight back to your tomove payout page.
If Stripe shows the wrong account, use the account menu at the top right of Stripe's page to switch.
When a guest pays, the money goes directly into your Stripe account — it doesn't pass through tomove first.
Two separate fees apply to each payment:
These are our current fees and are subject to change — see our Terms of Service for details.
Both fees are deducted automatically; you don't need to do anything to pay them.
When you first set up your account, Stripe will likely ask you to set up two-factor authentication for security. This usually means installing an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy) on your phone and scanning a QR code.
A few important things to remember:
Yes. Your ID, selfie, and bank details are submitted directly to Stripe through a secure, encrypted connection. Stripe is a regulated payments provider used by millions of businesses worldwide, and handles this information according to strict data protection and financial regulation standards.
This is a legal requirement for anyone accepting online payments, known as "Know Your Customer" (KYC) verification. It helps prevent fraud and money laundering, and it's the same process any payment provider — not just Stripe — is required to run. If you're connecting an existing, already-verified Stripe account, you won't be asked to do this again.
Sometimes Stripe can't verify someone automatically from the details entered and will ask for an ID photo and selfie as a follow-up step. This is routine and not a sign of a problem — just complete the extra step when prompted.
Once a booking payment is processed, funds settle to your Stripe balance and are paid out to your bank account on Stripe's standard payout schedule. You can view your balance and payout history any time by logging into your Stripe dashboard directly, or via the shortcut in your tomove Payments settings.
Your Stripe account is a Standard account that you own, not tomove. You can log into it directly at any time via dashboard.stripe.com using the email and password you signed up with — you don't need to go through tomove to access it, though a shortcut is also available from your tomove Payments settings. If Stripe needs updated information from you (for example, due to a regulatory change), you'll see a notice in your tomove dashboard with a link to resolve it, or you can go straight to your Stripe dashboard yourself.
If you run into trouble logging in or setting up your account, you can:
